Dawn has spent a phenomenal year at Vesta, gathering data close up and far away with its international payload of instruments. The mission extension allowed new views of Vesta’s north polar region. Soon, the mission will be saying “Hasta la vista, Vesta” to its favorite giant asteroid as Dawn begins its journey to the dwarf planet Ceres.
